The Province of Manitoba

I am going to Manitoba this summer. I am going to visit the province of Manitoba, and visit Warner's family this summer. It will be a trip around a week. I never been to Manitoba before, and don't know anything about Manitoba other than Louis Riel.

So I did some research on it. (From Wikipedia)

Manitoba is a Canadian province with more than 1 million population. The province has over 110,000 lakes and has a largely continental climate because it's flat land. The province economy largely depends on agriculture.

Flag of Manitoba

Hmm... it seems like Manitoba is flat with a little people, but a lot of buffalo living on it. Even their province flag has a buffalo on it. It is a Canadian prairie province which means it is very good for lots of animal to live on it.

Manitoba joined Confederation on July 15, 1870, which was the fifth province that joined Canadian Confederation. Manitoba was a part of the Hudson Bay Company in 1670s. Its area is the eighth in Canada with 553,556 km square continent area and 64,241 water area, which means there are a very big amount of water area in Manitoba. It has over 110,000 lakes including Lake Winnipeg which is the fifth largest lake in Canada.

Manitoba contains the second most French-Canadians in Canada, so some of region have French language service even their official language is English. Why there is so much French-Canadian in Manitoba? 0.0

Manitoba has an continental climate; temperatures and precipitation decrease from south to north, and precipitation decreases from east to west. Because of the flat landscape, The high-pressure air masses come from the northwest during January and February. In the summer, air masses sometimes come out of the Southern United States, as warm humid air is drawn northward = It's always sunny in Manitoba. Continental or maritime climate? 0.0 ---- definitely not maritime!!

Their flower of the province is Prairie Crocus. Maybe I am going see a lot of these flowers in Manitoba.
